Military personnel in tropical areas were especially vulnerable to mosquito-borne diseases. The military developed DDT (dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane) to control mosquitoes and other pests. This training film instructed US Navy personnel on the history, effectiveness, and safe use of DDT.
