Letter from Leonidas H. Berry to Edith I. Jones, MD, Houston, Texas, describing his recent trip

to East and West Africa where he visited five teaching hospitals and medical schools in Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Liberia, and Senegal; possible cooperation between doctors and medical societies there as a result; his upcoming visit to Houston for a conference where he would like to meet with local representatives of the National Medical Association; noting his appointment to the National Advisory Council to the National Program of Heart Disease, Cancer, and Stroke; and the importance of dealing as African American physicians and as members of the National Medical Association with discrimination issues against patients and doctors
