Letter from Leonidas H. Berry to Peter Libassi and Sherry Arnstein, about compliance with civil rights laws in hospitals
Leonidas H. Berry commended the civil rights compliance forms distributed by the US Department of Health, Education, and Welfare to hospitals. He also noted that informal discrimination might be continuing: "May I mention also as you train your inspectors, suggest that as they visit hospitals with new wings onto old buildings, if they want to see at a glance the racial distribution in such institutions, just visit the place during visiting hour and do a bit of head counting on the elevators."
