"The physician becomes an historian," address to the Association for the Study of Afro-American Life and History

In this address to the Association for the Study of Afro-American Life and History, Leonidas Berry, at age 80, sketched the history of African American physicians, his own contributions to gastroenterology, and his extensive research into his own family’s history. "As a black physician I have been compelled to be especially interested in the history of medical concepts and practices as they affect black American citizens."
