Description of Flying Black Medics clinic in Cairo, Illinois
The Flying Black Medics, a group of Chicago health care providers organized by Berry, held a one-day clinic in the basement of Ward African Methodist Episcopal Church in Cairo, Illinois. In addition to providing physical examinations, they showed health education slides and films, and lectured on health. The basement was "buzzing with audio-visual aids…" The clinic was followed by an afternoon conference on "Health Facilities for the Poor and Disadvantaged in Cairo and Alexander County."
