Letter from Leonidas H. Berry to Dr. Charles L. Hudson, president, American Medical Association,
Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, recommending the involvement of qualified physicians, without respect to race, whose practices are limited to slum areas in new government programs in health care; "there are qualified Negro physicians who practice in these areas who have never attained appointments to the staffs of first-class hospitals, or...to any hospital at all"; any program which does not improve human dignity, or which denies freedom of choice of physician, may fail in improving health facilities for slum dwellers
