Nurses working for the Henry Street Visiting Nurse Service in New York City took these snapshots, which show their lives and the lives of the families they cared for in the 1930s.
“A group of girls starting for Camp Fire Day Camp. Money from a special Henry Street fund payed for much needed recreation for these girls and others during the summer months.”
Today, Henry Street Settlement continues to offer health care programs, social services, and arts programs including two summer camp programs each year.
