In Need of Special Attention, US Department Health and Human Services, 1981
This early training video, featuring actress Loretta Swit, who played a nurse on the then-popular television show MASH, models how emergency room personnel can recognize a victim of violence, use empathetic questioning and responses to the patient, and intervene in ways that help the woman to help herself. The nurses, doctors, and hospital social worker all work together in this demonstration to support each patient.
