The Shot That Nearly Destroyed a World, ca. 1983
Daniel Sheridan wrote this paper on crisis intervention while he was a nursing student at Rush University in Chicago, and working full time in the emergency room at Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital. Sheridan recounted his interactions with a patient who was shot at close range by her estranged husband. He described the complexity of the situation and the challenges of implementing a recovery and safety plan for the patient.
