Response To the Victimization of Women and Children, Volume 8, No. 1, 1985
This issue of Response featured "Treating Violence-Prone Families" (p. 26), a commentary by Erin Pizzey, who founded the first battered women's refuge or shelter in London. She called for support to help the women to disengage from their abusers. The issue also includes an article about the importance of sheltering and an analysis of the 1984 Crime Victims Assistance Fund, as it related to service providers who work with women who were battered.
