"Nursing Network on Violence Against Women," Response To the Victimization of Women and Children, Vol 8, No. 4, 1985

A group of nurses formed the Nursing Network on Violence Against Women (NNVAW) in 1985. Peggy Perri and Christine King organized the first conference, which is described in this article. Nurses, health educators, social workers, therapists, feminists, and other activists in the anti-violence against women movement participated. As a result of the conference, the nursing profession developed a forum for nurses and others involved in the areas of woman abuse to meet, share knowledge and ideas, and gain support for their work.
