Protocol of Care for the Battered Woman: Prevention of Battering During Pregnancy, 1987
This protocol specifically addressed the needs of women who experienced abuse during pregnancy, an issue that gained prevalence in the late 1980s and 1990s. The manual included references to the research on the impact of violence on the fetus and the mother's pre- and post-natal health. The March of Dimes published this protocol "for all health care providers who care for women."
