Medicine in the 90s: Domestic Violence, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, 1993
In this training video for clinicians, Elliott Wolfe, MD moderates a roundtable with Debbie Lee, then-associate director of the Family Violence Prevention Fund Patricia Salber, MD, co-founder of the Physicians for a Violence Free Society. Lee and Salber stress the critical role physicians play in recognizing and treating domestic violence as a medical problem. Lee and Salber explain how physicians can recognize domestic violence, document injuries, provide empathetic and supportive care, and make referrals for patients, even while working within significant time constraints.
