Cassandra: Radical Feminist Nurses Newsjournal, 1986

This journal was a publication of Cassandra: Radical Feminist Nurses Network, an organization that a group of nurses founded in 1982. At that time, the nurses sought to bring a "women-defined" feminist voice to nursing practices, education, research, and administration, as well as to promote and preserve "the passion, intellect and moral activity of women who are nurses." "Cassandra", appearing in both names of the Network and the journal, was in tribute to Florence Nightingale, who wrote an essay of the same name. Each issue of the journal "Cassandra" featured a variety of articles, book reviews, conference reports, cartoons, and poetry that addressed women-centered perspective in nursing.
