"The Second National Nursing Conference on Violence Against Women," Response to the Victimization of Women and Children, Vol. 10, No. 2, 1987
A group of nurses organized the Nursing Network on Violence Against Women (NNVAW) in 1985 to address the health and social effects of violence in women's lives. In this column, Jacquelyn Campbell summarized events at the coalition's second conference, along with the NNVAW's growing advocacy activities. Campbell noted the nationwide need for "protocols and training manuals for care of battered women in health care settings." The article included an annotated list of publications related to the protocols or training guidelines for nurses and health professionals to care for victims of domestic violence, in health care settings.
