"Ways of Teaching, Learning, and Knowing About Violence Against Women," Nursing and Health Care, Vol. 13, No. 9, 1992

This issue of Nursing and Health Care included an article by Jacquelyn Campbell (p. 464–470). In the article, Campbell reflected on her 15 years working as an advocate for abused women. From her vantage point as a nursing professor, she argued that nursing students must learn about violence against women as part of their training. She advocated that "the only way we will get students to be energized and empathetic in their practice with survivors of violence is for them to get to know these women as people just like themselves."
