Aurei velleris oder der Guldin Schatz und Kunstkammer, 1598

Theophrastus Philippus Aureolus Bombastus von Hohenheim, better known as Paracelsus, was a Swiss German physician and alchemist whose work in toxicology was groundbreaking. Paracelsus advocated studying and using nature in the treatment of illness and disease, and believed that the body's chemical balance required harmony with nature as well as balance from within. He was among the first to use chemicals and minerals in medical remedies.
