La Metallique transformation, 1618
La Metallique transformation, published in 1618, is a collection of French writings on the transformation of metals that includes a poem about the philosophy of the French scribe and alchemist Nicolas Flamel. Much mythology surrounds Flamel, including the belief that he created the Philosopher's Stone, which turns lead into gold and allows the creator to gain great wealth and immortality.
