Le benefice commun de tout le monde, ou sont contenues plusieurs..., 1564

German botanist and physician Leonhart Fuchs compiled this small, but important volume on medicinal plants, intended to be a guide for healthy living. The first two parts include general information on plants and food, and medical recipes for oils, pills, and other preparations to treat various illnesses. The third part deals with medicinal plants, including detailed descriptions as well as information on their uses in medicine. Fuchs' works on botany were groundbreaking in the accuracy of their descriptions and drawings, and their organized presentation.
