A Compleat Body of Distilling, …, 1725

George Smith's A compleat body of distilling provides both practical and theoretical information on how to set up, run, and maintain a distillery for liquors, spirits, cordials, and waters. Of particular interest are Smith's discussions on the virtues and medicinal qualities of several recipes presented in the text, such as mint water, ratafia, orange water, and gold cordial.
