The experienced English housekeeper, ..., 1795

After spending fifteen years as a housekeeper for a Lady Elizabeth Warburton, Elizabeth Raffald wrote The experienced English housekeeper to provide recipes in plain language for young servants wishing to improve themselves. Like most cookbooks of the period, Raffald includes recipes for soups, baked goods, pickling, and collaring, but her work also features a unique engraving of a three-stove brick fire for the kitchen.
