Discourses on tea, sugar, milk, made-wines, spirits, punch, tobacco, &c, ..., 1750

Short's text is split into three parts: the first is solely about tea; the second is about sugar, milk, and made wines; and the third discusses spirituous liquors, tobacco, and bathing waters. Perhaps most intriguing, though, are Short's comments about the commercial history of tea, the various ways to prepare it, and the negative effects the beverage has on certain individuals. An interesting chart lists the names and quantities of 16 teas imported by the East India Company from 1729 to 1742.
