A treatise on the various kinds and qualities of foods, 1738

In this 1738 treatise physician and surgeon William Forster attempts to enlighten readers on the nature and potential benefits of certain foods. His initial discussion is followed by fifty-one rules to "preserve the body to a good old age," including suggestions on how much food to eat, ways to maintain a balance between health and sickness, and how temperance and sobriety naturally invigorate the body.
