Catalogue of the British, medicinal, culinary, and agricultural plants, cultivated in the London botanic garden, 1783

William Curtis (1746–1799), an English botanist and entomologist, began work as an apothecary before turning to botany and natural history. In this short work he offers a complete list of British plants, arranged according to the month of flowering. Plants found in the London environs—more than seven hundred species—are distinguished by the letter "L."
