Jacquelyn Campbell Oral History, 2012

Jacquelyn Campbell reflects on her career as a nurse reformer and the evolution of the domestic violence prevention movement in the United States and beyond. Among the topics Campbell discusses are the impact of her master's thesis research on her professional direction; her efforts to create nursing curriculum about family violence where none existed; the roadblocks she encountered as she tried to reform the health care system to better identify and care for abused women; and the development and implementation of her Danger Assessment tool. Campbell acknowledges the role and influence of others on her work—including Peggy Chinn, Joann Ashley, Anne Flitcraft, and Evan Stark.
